About

Born and raised in Jacksonville Florida, Captain Bryson Shaaber grew up on the water and has been fishing ever since. Jacksonville offered him the St John River, Inter-Coastal Waterways, and Beaches where he learned his trade. Wherever he went he was obsessed with pursuing the local species, and figuring out how to fish for them, but once he took his first family trip to the Florida Keys, everywhere else did not measure up.

While attending Florida State University, Capt. Bryson first started working in the Florida Keys for the Boy Scouts over the summers at Florida Sea Base. An Eagle Scout himself, he realized his passion from educating and teaching younger scouts about the ecosystem and fishery of the Florida Keys. After graduating college, he made the big move to live full-time in Key West, and pursue his dream of becoming a charter fishing guide.

Capt. Bryson has been guiding in the Lower Keys since 2015, and his passion as a guide not only provides a knowledgeable and productive charter, but a fun and unforgettable experience of a lifetime for all ages.

Boat Specs

When it comes to selecting a guided boat, the tool of choice at Silver Tide Charters is none other than the Pathfinder 2500 Hybrid Bay Boat, and we call ours "Illusion". Rigged with a Mercury Verado V8 300, this boat is not only a smooth and dry ride but fast. Making it possible to get out to the fishing grounds that much quicker. Also outfitted with the most current technology by Power-Pole, Simrad, JL Audio, and more. We are docked at the beautiful Oceans Edge Resort & Marina on one of their exclusive Jet Docks. This helps keep our boat in tip-top shape by keeping it out of the saltwater and preventing algae from growing on it. Come check the boat out in person!
